Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Junior QA Engineer in Gdansk. This full-time, on-site position is perfect for an individual passionate about quality assurance and eager to build their career in a dynamic technical environment. As a Junior QA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our systems. You’ll gain hands-on experience with Linux back-ends, API testing, and test documentation, while collaborating closely with international development, project management, and product teams in Paris and London. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop foundational QA skills with a path towards contributing to test automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Planning & Execution: Analyze requirements for new functionality, design and create comprehensive test cases, and perform manual testing across various software releases.
- API Integration: Participate in deploying and integrating APIs with other system components within the Linux back-end environment.
- Environment Management: Assist in upgrading and maintaining the testing environment, utilizing tools like Jenkins jobs or performing manual updates as needed.
- Regression Testing: Execute established regression test suites, carefully analyze the results, identify discrepancies, and prepare clear, comprehensive reports.
- Framework Development: Starting from your second year, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and enhancement of our automated test framework alongside the senior QA team members.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Actively communicate and collaborate with international colleagues based in Paris and London, including developers, project managers, and product owners, to ensure alignment and efficient issue resolution.
Must-Have Skills:
- Minimum 6 months of experience using Python, Bash, or another scripting language (experience from personal projects is applicable).
- A strong theoretical understanding of software testing methodologies and principles.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience working with Linux back-end systems, including proficiency with the command line.
- Familiarity with writing clear and concise test documentation (e.g., test cases, bug reports).
- A minimum of 6 months of practical experience performing manual testing.
- Basic knowledge of SQL, sufficient for data verification or simple querying.
- Upper-Intermediate proficiency in spoken English – essential for daily collaboration with international teams.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Hands-on experience using Git for version control.
- Familiarity with bug-tracking systems, particularly Jira.
